Interface Engineering In order that the equipment is properly integrated into a building, it is essential that the design team sets up a clear dialogue with the process or equipment manufacturer. The Service Design Team Leader can then arrange a series of meetings with all the relevant suppliers to finalise every interface detail including the mechanical, electrical, structural and civil implications. It would be the purpose of these meetings to also identify all the field installation work associated with the equipment in addition to the basic off-loading and positioning. This would include the detailing of all the interconnecting wiring, piping and ductwork together with the appropriate supports, containment systems etc. for inclusion in the respective work package tender document. On static completion of the installation, Services Design would ensure on site commissioning & validation is completed on each item of equipment. |
