AS part of the redevelopment of Glaxo Smith Kline’s Barnard Castle site a new changing room was developed to introduce additional layers of classification during the changing process.

It prompted GSK to voluntarily upgrade two more changing areas at the site.

Having successfully designed the Mechanical and Electrical fit outs for the first, the company was called on to support the extra work.

“The key changes have been added layers of sterility to improve compliance as staff move between areas in the changing rooms,” explained SDP director, Chris Armistead.

“Having completed one set of upgrades we knew the challenges that lay ahead and how we could build in sustainable systems that would be FDA and MHRA compliant.”

The improvements will be integral to GSK’s long term improvement strategy at Barnard Castle.
